Antithesis Common is not
a genre-specific literary magazine, and our submissions system is open to all forms of writing and artwork.
We are amiable people,
but please be aware that failing to follow submission guidelines (or, at
least, failing to politely break them) makes a poor first impression.
If you wish to send something that is outside the scope of this list, please contact us using the link at the top of the page.
We are open to new ideas, and if you have any questions, please ask!
Submissions are
temporarily CLOSED as we prepare the Antithesis Common print
anthology. Please see the "News" section of our site for more
details.

- Most publications
do not accept simultaneous submissions; Antithesis Common's open
policy is an increasing rarity. Because of this, we ask that you please
be courteous in informing us (and updating us) of the status of your
work. Failure to do so is disrespectful, and may result in our refusal
to consider subsequent submissions by the contributor in question.

Rights, Terms and
Conditions
- Submissions to Antithesis
Common are voluntary and unsolicited. Please do not send us your
work if you do not agree to the Terms & Conditions, will not abide
by the submission guidelines, or do not want your work published.
- By sending your writing or
artwork to Antithesis Common, you guarantee that the work is
exclusively your own and that you have the right to grant us the use of
it.
- Antithesis
Common asks for one-time publication and anthology rights. This
means we may publish your work(s) in one print and/or online issue of
the magazine and also in a future "Best of" issue at the
editors' discretion. We also reserve the right to archive your work on
our website for an indefinite period of time.
- We do not negotiate
rights under most circumstances.
- For more
information, please read our Terms
and Conditions.
****
Content, Revisions and
Compensation
- Antithesis Common
embraces diversity, and we welcome all subjects, opinions, and ideas.
However, hateful or inflammatory submissions (known colloquially as
"flames") will not be published and may be returned unread.
- Please keep in mind
that we are a magazine for creative writing and art; thus, traditional
"articles" about a subject (i.e. fact-based retellings of an
event) are not encouraged. For this reason, we also do not publish
interviews or reviews.
- At this time we do not pay for submissions to the
magazine; however, we hope to do so in the
future.
- If your piece is
chosen as our feature work, we may publish a full-page biography within
the magazine.
- At our discretion,
contributors may be given the option to revise their work(s). Due
to the amount of submissions we receive, sometimes we do not think
revisions would suitably improve a work for publication. In this case,
we do not offer the option to revise and do not wish to see additional
revisions. We will notify contributors individually if either situation
is applicable.

anthology. Please see the "News" section of our site for more
