Not
Easy
By
Samantha Ogust
It ain’t easy bein a black girl
Everyday I deal with discrimination
People starin
Little kids yellin
They see this girl and think
She’ll never go anywhere cuz she ain’t bright
That white girl down the hall from me in the dorms
She’ll go somewhere
Make money
Have fun
Me? I’m stuck bein that black girl
It isn’t easy being a white girl
Everyday I deal with segregation
Why can’t we all get along?
The black girl stares from down the hall
I hope we can be friends
She is always so sad
So mad. Why?
People look at her and think
She’ll go somewhere because she is black and smart
Make money
Have fun
Make a difference
Me? I’m stuck being that white girl
