Sarcasm
By
Juliette Capra
Green,
The acidic colour of limes,
Drips from
Her full red lips.
Triggered by
The arch of a single brow,
It pours out
Glistening sickly
In what had been till then
Romantic candlelight.
She lets the fatal liquid
Bite and burn his outstretched hand
Like cold copper fire.

JULIETTE CAPRA hails from the redwood forest that is the UC Santa Cruz college campus. She has had a deep admiration for the masters of language from an early age, emulating the creativity of Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, Jane Austen, and J.M. Barrie. She divides her time between school, presenting for the Santa Cruz LGBT organization Triangle Speakers, watching Firefly, and, of course, writing.
